Trilhas e Rumos makes travel goods in Teresopolis, in the mountains above Rio, where a small industry of cutting and sewing has existed for decades. We started with our own line and now produce under other brands as well.
The fabric almost never fails. What fails is a zip one gauge too light, a buckle that was substituted between batches, or a stress point with no reinforcement. Those are specification decisions, so we write them down and hold them.
On private label work the customer owns the brand and the design; we own the production, the inspection and the delivery date. Nothing goes into full production before a sealed reference sample is approved and a pilot run confirms it.
